"So far as I remember The Fashion through the Ages was not for any particular occasion. Some of the costumes had obviously been made but if I remember rightly a few of them were originals and a lady who collected them went round schools showing them. We were in the sixth form and I know she went to some pains to try to match the costume to the model. The pretty Victorian bride is an obvious example. I don't think we then paraded for an audience."
